Memory Loss & Behavioral Change: Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease
August 13 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Please join us on Monday, August 13, 2018 for a two-part program on Alzheimer’s disease.
The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts. Early detection gives you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies, and plan for the future.
Please join us for the free presentation: 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s disease. We’ll separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears about Alzheimer’s in America. Hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others.
This part of the program runs from 3 to 4:30 pm.
It will be followed by Effective Communication Strategies for Alzheimer’s Disease.
Communication is more than just talking and listening — it’s also about sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. Join us to explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s. Learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
This part of the program runs from 5:30 to 7 pm.
The program is free of charge and open to the pubic. The presenter is Melissa Grenier, MSW, regional manager of the State of New Hampshire Alzheimer’s Association.
Location: Weeks Whitefield Physicians Office, 8 Clover Lane, Whitefield, NH 03598.
Please call 800-272-3900 to preregister. Walk-ins are welcome.
