Alzheimer’s, Dementia, & Memory Loss: What You Need to Know

Weeks Medical Center to Host Programs on Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s

Weeks Medical Center will host two programs related to Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, and dementia on Monday, July 16, 2018.

Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are not a normal part of aging. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia (or you just want to be more informed), these two programs are designed to provide you with the facts.

Program 1: The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, & Alzheimer’s Disease. The program will provide information on detection, causes, risk factors, stages of the diseases, treatment, and more. Time: 3 to 4:30 pm.

Program 2: Dementia Conversations. This program provides tips for breaking the ice with family so you can address some of the most common, difficult to discuss issues, such as seeking a diagnosis or treatment, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans for the future. Time: 4:30 to 7 pm.

Both program will be presented by the Alzheimer’s Association at the Weeks Medical Center Whitefield Physicians Office at 8 Clover Lane, Whitefield. Presenters will include Melissa Greinier, MSW, regional manager for the State of New Hampshire Alzheimer’s Association, and Carrie Amorim Good, MSW, program coordinator for the State of New Hampshire Alzheimer’s Association.

Both programs are free of charge and open to the public. To preregister, please call 800-272-3900.  Walk-ins are welcome.
