Volunteers have many duties at Weeks, including working as cashiers in the dining room, making telephone reminder calls for medical appointments, assisting nurses on the medical/surgical floor, staffing the Sunshine Gift Shop, sorting and delivering mail and paperwork, and providing help in many departments… drawing on your unique gifts and talents.
The 2017 Volunteer Appeciation Dinner was held on April 19, 2017 featuring a Wild West theme, named “Wild Weeks.” Volunteers and their guests were treated to a cowboy/Wild West dinner served by Weeks employees.
The 2017 Mel Gallup Memorial Award was presented to Lucy Arizzi of Lancaster for outstanding volunteer service. Arizzi has been a volunteer at Weeks for 14 years and has provided more than 1,500 hours of service to the hospital. Arizzi began volunteering in 2003 and has worked primarily in the fiscal services department. She was praised for her friendliness, generosity, and dedicated service to Weeks Medical Center. In addition, all other volunteers also were honored for their contributions to the hospital. Milestone Award pins were presented to volunteers for their many hours of service.
