Dear Friends, Patients, and Neighbors,
At Weeks Medical Center, we are continuously working to expand our services in order to help keep our community healthy. I am extremely grateful for the exceptional care that the Weeks team provides to our patients and families every single day of the year. As a proud partner of North Country Healthcare, we are achieving our goal of keeping quality care local, to serve you better. Together, we are making good things happen in the North Country.
I am very proud of, and would like to highlight, some of the achievements we have made in the last few years.
When COVID-19 hit our region in full-force, North Country Healthcare and Weeks were well prepared, equipped, and committed to deal with this local surge. Our medical staff was ready and available to provide quality, safe care as needed.
Weeks hospital-based teams from the Emergency Room and the Medical, Surgical, and Intensive Care units have managed increased patient volumes, largely due to COVID-19, with renewed dedication, commitment, and compassion. These teams were well supported by members of our Laboratory, Radiology, Rehab, Respiratory, Case Management, and support and Administrative Services Departments.
Weeks testing clinics, vaccine clinics, and infusion clinics were fully operational and expanded, as needed, to meet increased patient demands.
A major focus at Weeks has been the construction of a new state-of-the-art Laboratory, which features a variety of new analyzers that allow a significant number of tests to be administered, and conditions diagnosed, locally and more quickly, thereby improving care.
We expanded our primary care, specialty care, and behavioral health services with two additional sites, one within the North County Home Health & Hospice Agency facility in Littleton, and another at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital campus in Colebrook. These new sites are largely staffed with many new dedicated providers who joined our staff to enhance the quality of care in our region. The two new sites are in addition to clinics already providing care in Berlin, Groveton, Lancaster, Littleton, North Stratford, and Whitefield. Furthermore, we added telephone and online virtual visits with patients, which are available, as appropriate.
Weeks and North Country Healthcare also implemented a new single electronic medical record, MEDITECH, to integrate support and care for our entire regional community.
These major accomplishments would not have been possible if it had not been for the tireless dedication of the Weeks and North Country Healthcare teams and the overwhelming support and partnerships from our community. Remember, the Weeks team is always here when you need us.
Gratefully yours,
Mike Lee,
President & CEO
