Weeks Medical Center’s Laboratory performs more than 230,000 tests annually, using the most up-to-date techniques, which guarantees the highest levels of quality and accuracy. The Laboratory is staffed by lab technicians, a phlebotomist and pathologists (via Dartmouth-Hitchcock), and provides the hospital’s medical staff with rapid turnaround and thorough test results. Because the Laboratory is electronically integrated with the hospital and physicians offices, tests can be ordered online and the results can be sent electronically. Lab services are available at the hospital and all four community-based physician office clinics. The laboratory also provides services to Country Village Center in Lancaster and the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.
The WMC Laboratory is segmented into four types of testing, including chemistry, hematology, blood banking, and microbiology. Some of the more common lab work includes:
- Complete blood count
- Thyroid/Endocrine, Hepatic, Cardiac and Renal function testing
- Basic and comprehensive metabolic testing
- Electrolytes testing
- Urinalysis testing
- Anti-coagulation testing

The Weeks Medical Center pathologist is Dr. Charles Brown, a board-certified physician in anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP). He is a member of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Dr. Brown is the laboratory director overseeing all clinical lab and anatomic pathology services.
