A pulmonologist is part of a multidisciplinary team that treats or manages a number of conditions including, but not limited to, asthma, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
A pulmonologist also provides care to those in critical condition within the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, manages patients on ventilators, and performs bronchoscopies.
